Left @ 7:00 from Middletown RI. Followed the birds, schoolie stripers chasing the little minnows, 24 in, 23 in, 25 in. We decided to head up the bay, north to the providence river in search for porgy. Did not find porgy till we hit the new I bridge, the old shooters, right near the hurrican barriers, latched on to 5 porgy. The pods were small in size, but the good news, THE PORGY ARE IN.Then we , in the same area, live lining porgy, no luck but action is definetly picking up

The day started with us launching the boat @ burma road in Middletown, RI @ 2:00. We then ran up past prudence island on the way up through the bristol harbor en route to the providence river when we saw the birds. Where there are birds, there are fish. Looking @ the birds we are thinking lets snag some porgys. We grab the porgy snaggers and start casting our porgy snaggers past the splashing water. I hook on to what i thaught was our first fish on (porgy), well the splashes we see and fish i snagged with my huge treble hook is not a porgy, its a STRIPER, got him to the boat and lost him 3 feet away. We can't believe it was'nt a porgy it was a striper. Long story short, we put the poppers on, 3 keepers,1, 32 inches, and 2, 31 inch STRIPERS. They were not chasing porgy, they were chasing little 3 inch minnows, unreal early striper action MAY 5 2:30 mouth of the bristol harbor, THANKS AGAIN MARK FOR ANOTHER FANTASTIC DAY

5:30 this morning my buddy mark and i set out for our maiden stripper quest of the season. Mark, my best freind, had everything ready to go, Fresh pogie ( from his neighbor ), sandworms, frozen pogie, and a name finally on his boat "MISS KIM" We killed them on live pogie, we looked fror the schools of pogie, snag the pogie, and filled the live well, We then went to the Ohio Ledge, live linning pogie and it was the best stripper day i ever had (thanks to marco), 2 guys 4 keeper strippers, all over 35 inches, with the biggest at 41inches. We had 2 throw a monster back cuz we had our fill. 2 each. UNREAL, and i owe it all to my good friend marco. THANKS MARK, TIME OF MY LIFE
