Fished with Meat again! Pulled out a decent (for the night) bronzeback on a senko, Good fight, good guy, good night. Best hookset of the night goes to Meat! He was throwing a shad pattern crankbait (shallow runner); way out the bait hits the water and BOOM a fish hits it and within 1 millisecond he sets the hook and snags the fish on the gillplate last treble! Quickdraw McGraw!

Went to Horn today, arrived at 5:30AM, and it was kind of chilly (53 degrees). Although it was a slow day, I caught three fish today--two were bruisers! All were caught on a topwater bite. I do, however, feel like I should have switched to a jig when it slowed down, oh well--maybe next time. Im really excited about the fall season, these fish are going to go on a frenzy soon.

Arrived at 5:00AM and started throwing a Pop-R. Caught 6 HUGE fish! Caught my biggest of the year also! Every strike was absoluteley heart-pounding topwater action.

This spot is like a puzzle--find the wrong pieces--and you got nothing. When you DO figure out the right pattern its rewarding! Went out and started with a shakey head rigged Mann's paddle tail (4" Blk/Chrtuese)--nothing--then a Roboworm (4" wtrmelon/Chrtuse)--nothing. I scratched my head...I was working the rig off the bottom slow and steady. I figured with all the pressure (low water, heat, water temps) the fish would want something finesse--wrong. Switched two a 6' suspending jerkbait (chartreuse/red/white) and the action was on--jerk, pause, jerk, jerk! I attached a picture of the biggest one caught--a hard fighting sallie.

Hit the Charles River (Galen Street Bridge) tonight (6:30PM-8:00PM) and pulled out a Sallie! Although the fish wasn't that big (8-10 inches) it still put up the typical smallmouth acrobatic fight. Had a bit of a dry spell over the last couple of days (heat, low water levels, etc.), so it was nice to finally catch something again. Casted an 8 inch BPS stick-o worm (wtrmlon) with a nail weight embedded inside, let it sink and--BAM! It still boggles me that you can catch Smallmouth Bass in the Charles River!!!
